| Using a tail of waste yarn rather of different color from that chosen for the work, cast on half the number of stitches desidered plus one more. | Using the yarn chosen beg first row as follows: K1, *yo, K1**, rep * to ** until you get the stitches number required, end with K1. | 2nd row: P1, *knit K1 in yo loop of 1st row, bring yarn forward and slip one stitch, yarn to back**, rep from* to **, end with P1. |

| 3rd row: K1, knit in K slipped stitches and slip with yarn forward stitches knitten in row below, end K1. | Work in tubular stitch for 4-5 rows, then knit 1/1 rib as usual until lenght required. | Before assembling pieces remove waste yarn. |
